HERCULES (also called HERAKLES)
The goddess Hera,
controlled Hercules (also know as Herakles), so he would kill his
wife and children. He got so mad he prayed to Apollo for guidance.
Apollo said for him to serve Eurystheus, King of Tiryns and Mycenae, for twelve
years for what he did. During the twelve years he did twelve labors which
were:

Labor 1: Heracles was to kill the
Nemean Lion.

Labor 2: He was to kill
a Hydra with 8-10 poisonous heads.

Labor 3: Hercules had to
catch a deer that had gold horns and bronze hooves.

Labor 4: He was to catch
a live boar.

Labor 5:
He was to clean stables in one
day.

Labor 6: He had
to kill a man-eating bird.

Labor 7:
He had to capture a bull.

Labor 8: He had to feed the body of
a man-eating giant to horses.

Labor 9: He had to steal a belt and
give it to Admete.

Labor 10: He had to steal cattle.

Labor 11: Hercules was to pick a
few golden apples.

Labor 12: Heracles was to bring a
three headed dog back.
