In
October of 2001, we went to Colonial Williamsburg (in Virginia) for its
educational value, but ended up having a load of fun. Who knew that
it was located right next to Busch Gardens, the most beautiful theme park
in the Nation! While we were enjoying the beautiful Fall weather and
authentic Colonial atmosphere, we learned how to load and fire cannons,
toured Revolutionary war encampments, rode bikes, participated in a period
trial and ate caramel apples. We joined William Rehnquist, the Chief
Justice of the United States Supreme Court at the dedication of a statue
of legal giants John Marshall and George Wyeth.
Each night, we headed for Busch Gardens and
enjoyed their very special HallowScream activities. The entire park
is changed over to a Halloween spectacular, with ghouls, haunted houses,
special Halloween musical performances and a whole lot of spooky
fun. We also found time to ride some major roller coasters. If
you go, spend the extra money and stay at the Williamsburg Inn or
Williamsburg Lodge. They add a lot to the experience. |
